Vermiculture 101

This Earth Day, join NC Cooperative Extension, Coastal Carolina Riverwatch, and Carteret Food and Health Council for Vermiculture 101. This will be a free virtual workshop on April 22nd at 6 pm.

Vermiculture is the practice of keeping earthworms for composting. Worms work hard to break down organic materials. You can keep your kitchen waste out of landfills and turn it into a nutrient rich compost. Vermiculture is easier than you think. Tune in to learn how you can reduce your environmental footprint in this fun, interactive way!

Dee Smith of NC Cooperative Extension will be doing a virtual demonstration on everything you need to know to start your own worm bin. You can purchase a worm kit with everything you need to get started for $60.00.
