Attorney General Josh Stein Takes Legal Action to Protect North Carolina’s Clean Water

“Coastal Carolina Riverwatch applauds the decision by AG Josh Stein to challenge the proposed WOTUS Rules. As the parent organization for the Crystal Coast Waterkeeper and White Oak-New Riverkeeper Alliance, we have a huge stake in the outcome of these proposed rule changes. Our wetlands and waterways need the protections we have in place to support and protect our fisheries from additional pollution that will undoubtedly occur if rules were relaxed and lifted. We have been working with groups across the state to encourage our state government to officially oppose changing the rules. Attorney General Josh Stein’s announcement today shows that the voice of the people still carries much weight. Our waters are too precious to allow them to be polluted.”

-Larry Baldwin, Crystal Coast Waterkeeper and White Oak-New Riverkeeper Alliance Advocacy Director
