On September 19th, volunteers all over the world are uniting for a cleaner planet. This year cleanups look a little different, but there are still ways to get involved!
1) Join Carteret Big Sweep for the International Coastal Cleanup. Small groups and solo cleaners can borrow supplies and get a location placement. Fill out the form here.

2) Grab your scuba gear and join the Aquanauts in Dive Against Debris.
Contact Janelle Flemming: janelle.fleming@merrowfoundation.org
3) Clean wherever you are! Do a solo clean or recruit members of your household. Find a beach, park, forest, or just pick up around your neighborhood. You can fill out a Cleanup Bingo card and return to Coastal Carolina Riverwatch for a prize!

Make your cleanups go further. Download the Marine Debris Tracker app or Clean Swell app to record your finds and automatically submit data to experts working on pollution problems.
Please be sure to follow all social distancing guidelines, wear a mask, gloves, and sanitize as needed. Dress appropriately. Bring sunscreen, bug spray, and a reusable water bottle. |
