As we continue our mission to protect the quality of water and the quality of life in coastal North Carolina, we recognize the growing impact of disasters on our communities.
The increased frequency of hurricanes, floods, and other natural disasters demands better resources and faster recovery efforts, especially for the most vulnerable among us.
That’s why we are asking for your support on an important bipartisan bill: the “Reforming Disaster Recovery Act” (S.1686/H.R.5940).
This legislation would permanently authorize HUD’s Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program, which provides critical, flexible funding to help disaster-stricken areas rebuild affordable housing, restore vital infrastructure, and recover more equitably.
By making crucial reforms, this bill will help streamline access to funds, ensuring that aid reaches those who need it most and often bear the brunt of recovery delays.
Your voice is powerful in advocating for a more just and equitable recovery process for all.
